John and Jason Nelson want to be part of downtown Meriden’s revitalization …and they’ve opened “Ladies First,’ a new retail store, to prove it.
This new women’s clothing store at 29 West Main Street, offers a wide variety of casual and dress clothing and accessories in about 1,000 square feet of renovated space.
Brothers John and Jason Nelson have been in business for less than two months and they’re optimistic about the future of downtown Meriden as a place to grow. “We could see signs of improvement and we wanted to be part of the renewal,” says John, whose move into downtown was covered by the Record-Journal and NBC-30.
The retail store carries all first-quality merchandise, purchased in NYC from distributors of brands such as J-Lo and Paco. “We have a wide variety of merchandise and are not just an urban clothing store,” says John, whose plans include marketing to Middlesex Community College students as well as courthouse employees to grow his business.
