Are you looking for financial assistance to help you make your move? The City of Meriden has got you covered with several incentive and benefit programs available to qualified businesses. The best way to know if you're qualified is to give the Economic Development Office a call, tell us about your company and its needs, and we'll do the legwork to find out what's available to you. Here are some of the programs available for businesses:

Meriden's Enterprise Zone (EZ) State Incentives
The City offers tax abatements to manufacturers, warehousing and distribution companies and certain service businesses that locate to or expand in Meriden's Enterprise Zone.

Meriden's Enterprise Zone - City of Meriden Incentives
Businesses that do not have SIC codes required by the State's EZ program—may still be eligible for Enterprise Zone incentives under the City's program.

Manufacturers and Warehousing/Distribution Companies Locating Outside Meriden's Enterprise Zone May Still Qualify for Incentive. Manufacturing and warehousing/distribution companies may qualify for the same benefits as those locating to the Enterprise Zone.

Meriden's Information Technology Zone (ITZ) Incentives
Information technology companies that locate into new or rehabilitated buildings in our Information Technology Zone may qualify for breaks in real and personal property taxes.

Regulations Implementing the Meriden's Manufacturing Assistance Program (MAP)
Growth costs money. Meriden's leaders realize that manufacturers seeking to grow their businesses and increase their employment bases may need loan assistance to make their businesses grow in a healthy way. That's why Meriden created the Manufacturers Assistance Program (MAP) Loan. The purpose of the MAP is to assist Meriden businesses to grow and add jobs in circumstances where access to capital is restricted.

Many variables affect a business owner's decision to relocate or expand, and incentives often close the gap when weighing the options. Among other incentives, Meriden offers tax credits for job creation, tax abatements for real property improvements and personal property tax abatements for machinery and equipment, helping to significantly reduce business expenses and allow your company to grow. Our job is to work with you, to maximize the opportunities for savings and to facilitate your move.
