Mayor Rohde is committed to growing Meriden’s business community from within as well as from outside the city borders. The Mayor serves as the Chief Elected Official and presides over the twelve-member City Council. He is known for his support of local businesses and his desire to encourage businesses to consider Meriden as their new home.

George McGoldrick is Meriden’s hands-on chairman of the committee that most impacts economic growth in the city. Under his leadership, Meriden amended its Manufacturer’s Assistance Program (MAP) loan to support the growth of local companies. He has been instrumental in a number of successful business relocations and expansions.

Lawrence Kendzior has been serving as Meriden’s Acting City Manager since December, 2004. Prior to assuming the role of Acting City Manager, Attorney Kendzior served as the City’s Corporation Counsel and oversaw the municipality’s Law Department.
Peggy Brennan, Director-Economic Development

Peggy Brennan is the point person for economic development in Meriden, fielding inquiries and ensuring follow-through for business owners. Peggy has more than 15 years of experience in economic development, having worked in Bridgeport and Hamden in this capacity. She is the ’go-to’ person at City Hall for the City’s financing program, coordination of state and federal benefits and site location assistance.

Dominick Caruso’s team includes Lata Krishnarao, Assistant Planning Director and Jim Anderson, Zoning Enforcement Officer. This staff provides support to the City’s Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Inland/Wetlands Commission and the Design Review Board.

With 12 years of economic development experience in Meriden, Trudy knows the players, the properties and the programs available for business. Trudy also manages the disposition of city-owned properties acquired through foreclosures.
