Assessments

The City of Meriden has been awarded grants to perform environmental site assessments, site reuse planning, and brownfields revitalization planning. The City currently has two grants being used for brownfields assessments and reuse planning.

• US EPA FY 2015 Assessment Grant: Awarded in 2015, $200,000 in federal funds are available for community wide environmental assessments and for site reuse planning.
• 2016 DECD Brownfields Areawide Revitalization Grant: $100,000 in state funds were used to develop a community arts and retail plan for downtown Meriden, and to conduct site reuse planning at 1 King Place, 16 Church Street, and 25-33 Colony Street.
